Penn GSE Teacher Network

Building on the work of researchers like Dr. Richard Ingersoll, we understand that completing our Teacher Education Program is just the beginning of a professional teaching career. We know that the first 3-5 years of teaching are critical to the continued growth of teachers’ professional knowledge and skills. For this reason, we developed the Penn GSE Teacher Network as a way to support our alumni as they move into the classroom. The network supports our goal of creating teacher leaders in classrooms and schools. For example, we are currently providing a workshop for teachers who have taught for five years or more to serve as mentors new teachers.

Alumni Networking

Our graduates have the opportunity to network with more than 15,000 Penn GSE alumni and with more than 300,000 Penn alumni.

The Penn GSE Alumni Relations office offers many opportunities to get involved and stay in touch with the GSE and Penn Alumni communities. In conjunction with Penn GSE Educational Alumni Association, the Urban Teacher Education Program sponsors an annual “Celebrating Teachers!” event during which teachers who have achieved a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience are recognized and honored.
